Introducing our friend Lesley Y. Kim, born in LA, law student and @BestFoodLA Community Leader in Los Angeles. A few days ago, Lesley posted a Rustichella pasta dish on her Instagram account to promote a competition idea organized by The OpenTable Blog, a famous food blog that loves what can happen around the restaurant table. Every month, OpenTable diners write more than 750,000 restaurant reviews. Here’s our short interview!
Hi Lesley, hope that you are fine! What was the idea about OpenTable contest?
The #ValentinesDishPics was an competition idea created and held by OpenTable offering $1000 to the best photo of a dish from a Restaurant on OpenTable.com. OpenTable reached out to @BestFoodLA and asked if we could promote the competition on our page for Valentine’s day. We chose my photo of the Crab Rustichella Spaghetti because Bestia Restaurant uses OpenTable for reservation services.

My first gourmet experience with Rustichella d’Abruzzo was at Bestia Restaurant in Los Angeles when I tried their Spaghetti Rustichella with lobster, sea urchin, garlic, calabrian chilies, squid ink bottarga, breadcrumbs. So delicious! I fell in love.
What is your favourite Rustichella pasta shape? Why?
I like long pastas, so my favorite Rustichella pasta shape is Linguine. I use it when I cook pasta at home!
What is your favourite Restaurant in LA that serves Rustichella?
Bestia Restaurant is my favorite restaurant in LA that serves Rustichella.. totally amazing!
