The 150th anniversary of Canada, also known as the 150th anniversary of Confederation and promoted by the Canadian Government as Canada 150, occurs in 2017 as Canada marks the sesquicentennial anniversary of Canadian Confederation. Queen Elizabeth II, Canada's sovereign, has been Queen of the United Kingdom, Canada (composed of 10 provinces and 3 territories), Australia, and New Zealand since 6 February 1952. She is Head of the Commonwealth and Queen of 12 countries that have become independent since her accession: Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Kitts and Nevis.

In occasion of this special event, our Chef Ambassador in Vancouver Alex Tung of La Grotta Del Formaggio has cooked in honor of the Honourable Judith Guichon, the 29th Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia and the representative of Her Majesty The Queen in the province, during the gala dinner last night at Walton Elementary School in Coquitlam.
