Diavulitt Carnevale biscotti Rustichella d'Abruzzo ferratelle wafer cioccolato fondente cioccolato al latte cioccolato bianco Stefania Peduzzi Carnival sweet crisp pastry for Carnival

Ferratella (aka Pizzella or Neola) traditional abruzzese waffle cookies made from flour, eggs and sugar, and flavored usually with anise or anisette. The cookie dough is put into a Ferratelle iron, which resembles a small variant of the popular waffle iron. The Ferratelle iron is held by hand over a hot burner on the stovetop, although some models are electric and require no stove. The iron stamps a snowflake pattern onto both sides of the thin golden-brown cookie, which has a crisp texture once it is cooled. Ferratelle can be hard and crisp or soft and chewy depending on the ingredients and method of preparation. It can be moulded into various shapes as cannolo and filled with sclucchiata, the traditional Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grape jam, or chantilly.

"Diavulitt" (literally means little devils) aka sweet crisp pastry for Carnival, are the new traditional abruzzese cookies by Rustichella d'Abruzzo, made with vanilla and chocolate (dark, milk or white), and covered with tasty colored nonpareil sprinkles! Try this new sweet biscuit.. it's a LIMITED EDITION. Carnival is coming.. we can't wait to taste "Diavulitt"!
